Project:
Open Source City
In production and development, open source as a development model promotes a universal access via a free license to a product's design or blueprint, and universal redistribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone. City as a “product” which effects everyone who lives in it a lot, how it is should never only decide by few people. It should always be “open source”.
“Open Source City” is an event encouraging people to change the city by themselves (such as making “illegal dwellings” in public spaces or making artworks on the street), share what they made to each other on the website and inspire each other, so the collective intelligence can make the city fitting people better.
People who want to join Open Source City can show the “art works” or “buildings” they make in the cities, these kind of works are shown as “Projects”. Besides, people can also launch themes, under which other particpants can creat their projects related to a specific topic.
For the interface of the index page of the website of Open Source City, I made a foldable list as a navigation, differed from the common foldable lists which open vertically, I made it open horizontally, therefore, users can always see all the titles and click on them to switch to another column.
